Colleges Seek More Time
Many affiliated colleges have asked for more time, saying they don’t have enough administrative staff to manage the large amount of student data. Anshu Kedia, General Secretary of the Lucknow University Associated Colleges Teachers’ Association (LUACTA) and Principal of Khun Khun Ji Girls’ Degree College, highlighted that most colleges are operating with only a few clerks managing hundreds of records.
“The volume of data is enormous and requires accuracy. Extending the deadline will help ensure a smooth and error-free process,” said Anshu Kedia, General Secretary of the Lucknow University Associated Colleges Teachers’ Association (LUACTA) and Principal of Khun Khun Ji Girls’ Degree College.
Technical Glitches and Resource Gaps
LUACTA President Manoj Pandey emphasized that while LU itself has sufficient technical and non-teaching support, most affiliated colleges lack these resources. He also noted that the Samarth Portal faces several ongoing issues, affecting both student data uploads and faculty promotions.
“Many teachers have been unable to apply for promotions for months because of system errors. The university must resolve these technical issues promptly,” said Manoj Pandey, President of the Lucknow University Associated Colleges Teachers’ Association (LUACTA).
The Samarth Portal was launched to digitize and automate administrative processes such as admissions, data management, and academic workflows. However, its slow performance has created bottlenecks across several institutions.
Registrar Bhavana Mishra confirmed that LU has already extended the data-upload deadline to October 31, adding that further actions will depend on feedback from colleges and the progress made in the coming days.
The extension aims to give colleges sufficient time to complete student data submissions without errors while ensuring the portal functions efficiently for future academic operations.
Lucknow University’s move to extend the Samarth Portal deadline reflects its effort to balance administrative efficiency with on-ground realities faced by affiliated colleges, ensuring smoother digital transition across Uttar Pradesh’s higher-education system.
