FATHI Ends Telangana College Protest After Fee Relief Assurance

The Federation of Associations of Telangana Higher Institutions (FATHI) spoke with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka in Hyderabad on Friday and agreed to end its protest over outstanding tuition reimbursement dues.

The decision followed a government request to postpone the Teachers’ Svaantana Sabha, which was originally scheduled on November 8 at LB Stadium, due to the current electoral process in the Jubilee Hills seat.

  • The remaining ₹300 crore would be cleared in stages.
  • He added that a special group on reimbursement reforms has already been formed, which includes college representatives and government officials, to avoid future delays.

Impact on Students and University Exams

Following discussions at Praja Bhavan, FATHI General Secretary Ravi Kumar said that the federation would call off the lecturers’ protest to ensure that students are not affected.

We regret the exam disruptions and will coordinate with universities to hold the stalled papers soon,” said FATHI President Nimmatouri Ramesh Babu.
